Moore Meets Nevelson
Who is Moore... Who is Nevelson... you ask?
Henry Moore and Louise Nevelson are two of my art heros. Both sculptors. But that is where their similarities end. Henry Moore created large scale stylized/minimalist figurative pieces carved primarily in stone, while Louise Nevelson created mostly very large, very dense assemblage constructions from wood she collected on the streets of New York City. I love and respect them both and they inform my art, my sensibilities, my way of life to a great degree and I am indebted to them. This series is an homage and it combines elements that resonate from their works to mine.
