Alligator and Owl meet McArthur~!

My two sculptures, Self Portrait of Myself as an Alligator, and Brother Owl, were created in homage to the iconic Maine sculptor Bernard Langlais. Please stop into the Children's Library at McArthur on Main Street in Biddeford to see these two friendly beasts in the good company of 7 Langlais creatures!!

“My husband, Peter and I are building a small cabin by hand. We found two huge downed white pines on our land in Phillips, Maine and began the laborious process of removing the old rotted outer rings in order to make them lighter in weight and transportable to Biddeford where Peter could mill them into beams for the cabin.  The resulting texture of this process was irresistible to me, and I could not bear to see the slabs burned or discarded…  at some point they spoke to me and Alligator was what they said…”
